How to put Games and Apps on you HD
Okay, so before we begin, let me say that you will need a little patience and that it may take a while to download the parts depending on your internet speed.
First you’re going to have to download and install Microsoft Visual C# 2008 Express Edition using the link below… This software will allow you to open source files as well as deploy .ccgame files (I will explain how to do this later on).
C# 2008 Express Edition (Scroll down and select the vcssetup.exe file)
Now you’re going to need to download and install Microsoft XNA Game Studio 3.1 by clicking on the link.
XNA Game Studio 3.1
Now when its complete, go to the start menu and in the XNA directory click on Device Center.

Connect your Zune HD to the computer and click on Add Device,
it will find your Zune HD and add it automatically… Your now ready to move on to the next step.
Now that you have the two essential programs installed, you must download and install the Zune HD extensions for XNA Game Studio. These extensions add the various touchscreen and accelerometer functions for the XNA developers to utilize and for you guys to drool over =P
XNA Extensions for Zune HD
Now that’s it for the hard part!!!! Now starts the easy stuff, make sure your Zune HD is up to date before trying these because they may not work or give you an error.
Deploying a .ccgame File
Now sometimes Authors will go ahead and package their game as a .ccgame file… These are much easier than source codes in that all you have to do is open the file and click UnPack.
It will then be sent to your Zune HD automatically!!! And that’s all!! You are now ready to enjoy the ever expanding library of XNA games, be sure to check back often for new games and apps.
Deploying The Games with .zip/.rar extension
Now then, I will explain how to install and use the source files. Authors often times provide source code instead of compressed apps because they want others to be able to edit their work. When you have the source code on your computer, you will notice a folder and a file with a .sln extension.
Double click the file with the .sln extension to open the “solution” in Visual C# 2008.
When it opens, in the right hand pane, you will see various files and folders…
Just right click the title in the pane and click deploy.
Now before you do this you need to make sure that your Zune HD is connected and your Zune Software is NOT running. It will then deploy to your Zune and be ready to play.

the visual thing dosent support this version of windows which is windows 7 what are te steps please help
@matthew alfonso
It supports windows 7 just fine, just if you have 64 bit windows you might have to find a different download.
Is this going to damage or make the HD slower since it resets everytime you goto the main menu?
When i try to unpack the file, it says that it doesn’t trust some of the files… how can I fix this?
@Jake P
Nope it will not affect your HD at all, if microsoft thought it would they would not have made the HD do that.
@Eric Palonsky
This is probably due to a virus scanner locking the files when it goes to unpack them. This isn’t due to a virus it just locks them down to scan them.
Eric Palonsky, make sure you have zune extensions downloaded… http://zhdapps.com/tutorialdownloads/zuneextensions.zip
I cant unpack files! When i download file with chrome, it opens with different program instead of asking if i want to unpack file! Help please!
Loaded up the software as shown, game starts unpacking to Zune but only makes it halfway and then sits there at halfway forever. Is this normal and should I keep waiting (over 20 min) or is something wrong? Does this on every game I’ve tried to load to Zune. Thanks.

I also have the same exact problem – not sure what the answer is.

I’ve added a XNA apps to my zune, but after I did this, I’ve been unabel to use any apps that I obtained from the Zune marketplace. Is there any fix for this?

“Error 2160: The XNA Framework runtime required by this game project is not available on Zune. There is no runtime version. The target device is not supported by the installed version of XNA Game Studio Platform tools.” I keep getting this error any help?
I keep getting the exact same message. I can’t find any solutions to it at all. Can anyone please please help us?!?!?
I have been trying to add the games to my zune but I keep getting a error 2600: the cannot be trusted. Can you please help me fix this? Thanks
I keep getting an error message:
Could not connect to (Device Name). Make sure the device is connected, a game is not already running, the screen is not locked, and the Zune software is not running on your computer.
I’ve checked all these things and it seems like my connection should be fine. I’m running all of this on 64-bit Windows 7 and that’s the only problem i could think of. If someone could explain what is going wrong and how to fix it i would appreciate it.
Have you tried restarting your Zune HD? Windows 7 64 bit works fine.
ALSO: I’ve managed to get it to connect before so i know it’s possible. But for the time being, it seems like an almost hit-or-miss situation as far as connecting
Will this harm the Zune HD in anyway? Make it slower?
Also,, Will the Zune restart everytime I close out of an 3rd party app?
No, no, and depends on if it’s a XNA app or OpenZDK, but you have to restart it anyways to fix DRM regardless.
Doesn’t find my zune! Help!
It finally found my zune, but now I have another problem. I can’t find the .sln file, so I can only download .ccgame apps, which really stinks. can somebody please help?
You don’t need the sln file, that is for developers ONLY.
Downloaded all need programs and deployed to the zune hd but when ever i try to open Visualboy Zune my zune just goes back to the menu after a few seconds of a black screen help please? =/
Try uninstalling the game and reinstalling it or check zuneboards for more info on the problem.
Every time I try to open Visual Studios 2008 Remote Debugger it says, “The visual studio remote debugger does not support this edition of Windows. View msvsmon’s help for more information.”
Help please?
why would you want to use the remote debugger?
I’m not sure, but I installed it like it says to above and it does not work apparently. When I download a game, what program should I open it with? I’m using firefox..
I got a problem i instal the visual c and the xna 3.1 but when i try to instal the zune extensions the instaler says that i don’t have the xna 3.1 instaled, what do i do???
what version of Visual Studio did you install?
it can’t find my zune when i search for device!!
what do i do? i installed everything already and i can’t find out why, even ran it in admin mode (im already admin anyways so wtf)
Restart your zune. Usually fixes any problems.
i downloaded all the stuff and it all works fine but when i download apps and games and i try to deploy them it says sorry the source should not be trusted and it wont let me put the games on my zune because of that..what should i do?
when i try to find my device it says it cannot be found any suggestions????
How important is the C# 2008 program thing? I didn’t read the full thing as I dont even have my Zune HD yet (next 2-4 weeks hopefully
)
But I went through a shit ton of bullshit to get games on my [now destroyed] Samsung P2, and was hoping to not go through millions of steps.
Regardless of the difficulty, I WILL do it, I just really really hope its 123 rather than 1 (a) (b), 2 (a[i][ii]) (b[i][ii][iii]), 3 (a) (b) (c)
Anyone else getting this message while installing the XNA extensions?
Please wait while the installer finishes determining your disk space requirements
It’s been there for like an hour.
after u add your zune should u let it test the connectivty
All of my apps work, and i have no complaints.. other than now i cannot sync with my zune software..

When the XNA Game Studio Center looks for my zune, it can’t find it
I restarted my zune but still didn’t work
help!!
I’ve downloaded both:
C# 2008 Express Edition
XNA Game Studio 3.1
When I go to the start menu and in the XNA directory there is no “XNA Game Studio Device Center” to click on
I’ve downloaded all of the required programs and have connected my Zune HD using the Device Center, however I can’t seem to open the .ccgame file in order to unpack it onto my Zune.
Just to be more specific:
When I click on the .ccgame file it asks me what program I want to use to open it, yet I can’t seem to find the xna game studio package utility that is pictured above. Any help would be appreciated.
I tried to download the XNA Extensions for Zune HD, but it says: “Application cannot be found”.
I already successful downloaded C# 2008 Express Edition and XNA Game Studio 3.1.
Maybe I need a file compressor? If so, what kind?
